Roller Coaster. . .

Day 19

Emma has been having a roller coaster few days.  She is still having respiratory issues and it looks she will have a tough fight to overcome them.  She has chronic lung disease which is very common in preemies because their lungs are so small and underdeveloped.  She has been requiring additional oxygen and support from the ventilators to help her breathe.  Even though they adjusted her tube and it helped her a little bit, she has much more serious and chronic issues.  She still has a very long road ahead of her, so please continue to pray for Emma.

Although she still has critical respiratory problems, Emma is still doing very well in other areas and tolerating her feeds well.  She has gained another 40 grams and is up to 590 grams (1 pound, 5 ounces)!  Emma is still very feisty and likes to move around and watch what is going on around her.  She also likes to play dress up once in awhile:

Sometimes Emma likes to try on Daddy's wedding ring too - it's a little big for her though...

Today Emma was upset that the nurse tried to tuck in her feet so she would stop squirming.  She likes to kick her feet out when she's sleeping (just like her Mommy):
