Happy Halloween!

Day 15

Emma has had an exciting few days.  She was held by her Mommy a few times which both Mommy and Emma loved.

Emma has an infection in the secretions in her throat which is common in preemies.  She is getting inhaled antibiotics for the next couple days to fight off the infection and seems to be doing well with it.  Her sugar levels were high and her oxygen saturation was fluctuating, so the doctors did bloodwork to test for any other infections and started her on IV antibiotics just in case.  The bloodwork came back negative, so they stopped the IV antibiotics.

Emma had a great visit on Saturday with Grampa, Aunt Lauren, and Great-Aunt Barbara.  She was excited to meet Lauren and Barb and everyone thought she was the cutest thing ever.

On Sunday, Mommy and Daddy visited her and Emma was wearing a special Halloween crown!

She also received a special gift from Mommy & Daddy.  Every girl needs a Curious George!

He is going to keep an eye on her for us when we're not there.

Happy Halloween, Emma!

Emma & Daddy

Day 11

Emma took her first trip outside the incubator last night to be held by her Daddy.  It was a wonderful, special moment for all of us.  Emma also started to open her eyes yesterday so she was able to look all around and peek up at Daddy while she was being held!

Earlier in the day, we also had a wonderful visit with Grandma.  Emma is also looking forward to meeting her Aunt Lauren on Friday.

Emma also started getting an extra calorie packet in her feeds to try to plump her up yesterday.  Even though she lost 10 grams at her weigh in (now at 540 grams weight). the nurse said she had a couple big poops that she attributed the weight loss too.  She's a good little pooper!  =)

When Emma started to get cold, she had to go back in the incubator.  She was not happy about leaving Daddy.  This is her cranky face:
