Emma took her first trip outside the incubator last night to be held by her Daddy. It was a wonderful, special moment for all of us. Emma also started to open her eyes yesterday so she was able to look all around and peek up at Daddy while she was being held!
Earlier in the day, we also had a wonderful visit with Grandma. Emma is also looking forward to meeting her Aunt Lauren on Friday.
Emma also started getting an extra calorie packet in her feeds to try to plump her up yesterday. Even though she lost 10 grams at her weigh in (now at 540 grams weight). the nurse said she had a couple big poops that she attributed the weight loss too. She's a good little pooper! =)
When Emma started to get cold, she had to go back in the incubator. She was not happy about leaving Daddy. This is her cranky face:

ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I am keeping track of Emma's progress and am so happy to see that she is beginning to have more postive days. Grandma said she is a fighter and we can all see that she sure is. I love the blog that refered to her kicking the blanket off and the one that tells how very content she is on Mommy and Daddy's chest. She has the best parents!!! She is one cute little girl. Isn't it incredible how such a tiny little baby can know the love and content of her mommy and daddy? What a blessing for all of you. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers daily. Also know that Emma is a very special little girl and will bring lots of love to everyone that shares her life. Lots of love to all of you,
